What is the Coordinate Plane?

The horizontal line is the x-axis
The vertical line is the y-axis
The little dashed lines are called tick marks and mark units along the axes
On the x-axis, negative infinity is to the left and positive infinity is to the right
On the y-axis, negative infinity is at the bottom and positive infinity is at the top
